A series of performed “sketches” tracing a person’s and object’s presence in a space, emphasizing the boundaries that extend from and around them but aren’t visible. Lines represent the spaces people and animals occupied during the moments the artist was observing them. The outermost, general border is then scraped away. The overlay of vellum shows the general shape of occupation in the space, denying any intention of customary architecture. An architecture of space emerges that does not outline the built environment but how people actually respond to it.
